Dr. Shumski, trained at America’s finest institutions by some of the world’s best cataract and refractive surgeons, has written textbook chapters, published research (including in the foremost academic journal in the field, Ophthalmology) and has used his engineering background to help design cutting-edge tools and techniques in the field.

But what’s most important to Dr. Shumski is your experience as a patient. Even though he’s performed thousands of surgeries, he realizes that every patient is going through their procedure for the first time. His practice style is designed to give each patient the individual time and attention they need to best care for their unique medical and vision needs, as well as their emotional needs, along the process. Outside the office, Dr. Shumski enjoys sports and fitness, playing guitar and piano, and supporting the Orlando City and Pride soccer teams. Dr. Shumski was also the Official Team Ophthalmologist of the Orlando Apollos for their Inaugural season.
